PROJECT CONCEPT

“Non-tourist” England is embodied in the interior of the Twenty Two restaurant in Novosibirsk. We propose to discard the extra pathos and stiffness of England and move to  the pub, which is hidden on one of the streets of London away from the Tower and other tourist routes.

PLANNING DECISION

The restaurant is located on one of the busy streets of Novosibirsk, where many other restaurant concepts are collected. On an area of 369.7 sq.m. 146 seats were placed on 57 tables. In the middle of the hall there is a large bar - in the best traditions of the English pub.

CONTINUITY

In place of the Twenty Two restaurant, there was another restaurant that the residents of the city fell in love with. Our task was to create a new place that can attract new customers and retain old ones. Therefore, some decor elements that remained from the interior of the former restaurant were used. This way visitors will feel continuity and recognize their favorite restaurant in a new image.

The decoration used simple and familiar materials that are easy to find in any London home - tile, brick, metal and wood. Here you will find mosaic tiles that are typical for London interiors. The number of tiles in the central mosaic is 46,255 pieces!

RENEWED INTERIOR

The main shaping idea of the interior is a three-part vaulted structure - a reference to buttress Gothic structures. This structure unites the restaurant and at the same time makes it more chamber and cozy. One of the two vaults associated with the entrance group is a metaphor for “homey” England, the daily life of Londoners, where on the right is a cozy bar / pub, and on the left is a reference to a giant home library under the ceiling, home decor, a lot of panels.

The far room is a metaphor for English gardens, a space both personal and guest, where the famous English ivy is the main decoration of all facades and fences, even growing on the ceiling. The second vault is a reference to the famous London Underground. The phrase "Please, mind the gap" is a warning phrase in the London Underground, and dates back to 1968.
