SMART is a rule of modern life that accompanies us not only in everyday life, but also in travels. Reasonable consumption, modern technology and mobility characterize the space of the Azimut Hotel. The introduction of new functional areas for effective work and rest within the hotel creates a comfortable space for staying anywhere in the world.
One of our tasks when working with Azimut Hotel was to create an entrance group. It was complicated by the fact that the facade already had a design that had to be left unchanged. As a basis for the decision, we took the main activity in the city of Mirny - the development of a diamond quarry. We used a metaphor for diamond mining: to decorate the entrance lobby, we took natural stone cut with a patchwork and added the glow of "diamonds" through the perforated ceiling panels. In the lobby area, this idea is revealed even more clearly.
The lobby includes an entrance area, a reception, a waiting area, work and rest area, a bar and a lounge. Each zone flows into the next without additional barriers, forming a single multifunctional space. Zoning is done through the use of characteristic finishes, furniture and lighting.
For the reception area, we have created a more formal welcome look using natural stone, brass and cozy warm light. An important feature of this area is the brass-lighted snake rail that brings all the lobby areas together.
The cafe continues the lobby area using the predefined style of the reception area interior. Brass snake rail and finishing of walls and floor also "flow" here. The end wall with a soft zone is accentuated by embossed panels and drop lamps, supported by lighting around the perimeter.
Warm lighting continues in the breakfast buffet and dinner restaurant. A more intimate, relaxed atmosphere prevails here thanks to the combination of natural stone on the countertops, walnut veneer, brass, soft light and greenery.
Corridors connect the ceremonial reception area with cozy hotel rooms, between which it was important for us to create an organic transition. That is why the decoration used textile panels, brass lamps with a warm diffused glow, carpeting and wooden slats, similar to the planken in the hotel lobby.
The design concept of the hotel rooms also favors natural colors: warm woody tones are supported by an energetic mustard color of curtains and banquets and a fresh mint color of the headboard. There are no direct light sources in the room lighting, instead, there are various groups of backlights, by adjusting which, the guest can independently set the atmosphere in the room: from a brighter working one to a relaxed evening one.
