SKYWARD

While working on the project, we set a goal for ourselves: to preserve a comfortable and familiar way of life of the local population and breathe new life into an already inhabited place. To achieve this goal, the following tasks were formulated:

  1. Save existing buildings and structures;
  2. Protect the private areas of local residents (inner streets and courtyards) from tourists;
  3. Create unifying zones for tourists and locals.

PLANNING SOLUTION

The exits from the public coastal zone are interconnected and enter the city only along the main street - the tourist artery.

For tourists, the main trajectory of movement is highlighted - the central street with "points of attraction" placed on it: the main square, organized on the ground floors of existing buildings by small family restaurants, hotels and souvenir shops, and the final point of the tourist route - a terraced park.

TOURIST ROUTE AND PIER

The tourist route permeates the entire city, without penetrating deep into the life of the islanders, and begins at the pier in the central part of the coast.

Here tourists and locals are greeted by a pier that goes deep into the bay and ends with an amphitheater, where you can hold not only bright shows for tourists, but also local village holidays.

The village greets people arriving from the pier with a cascade of steps and landscaped terraces. On the shore, there is a large canopy structure that encloses the fish market, where residents sell their catch, souvenirs and local products.

The fish market is the gateway to the village.

BUNGALOW & KITE PARK

To accommodate tourists, there are comfortable bungalow hotels with their own patios and panoramic windows overlooking the bay.

The bungalow area is located away from the main part of the city, has direct access to the sea and is separated from the nearest residential buildings by multi-level terraces.

These terraces lead to the kite garden located at the confluence of the river into the bay.

The ecological and social renovation of the riverbank into a recreational area is conceived as a leisure park with a primary focus on flying kites to support traditional Chinese handicrafts.

Collaborating on handcrafted exhibits and an exciting hobby for all ages will help create a friendly environment between locals and tourists, while flying high kites will become symbols of the revitalized village.
