The airport "Surgut" in Noyabrsk is called the "South Gate" of Yamal. As a visual concept, we have combined the images of the northern lights, aircraft skin and 63 latitude - this connection has allowed us to create a brand of this area and express its architectural authenticity.
The projected site is located on the territory of the Noyabrsk airport at some distance from the city. The task of the improvement is to form the structure of the parking zone, to organize the conflict-free movement of flows of arriving and departing passengers, as well as to create a green space for a comfortable stay at the airport.
The guests of the city are greeted by the "Southern Gate" - a bright construction of an arch-portal with illumination in the colors of the northern lights. It spreads its wings along the horizon in different directions, forming canopies floating in the air that protect passengers from wind and rain. A single structure of the canopy is the border between north and south, crossing which, arriving guests can figuratively feel themselves in the north.
The glazing has a translucent map with the locations of attractions and interesting facts about Noyabrsk in order to orient the guests of the city upon arrival.
Smoking areas are integrated under the canopy to ensure comfortable movement of people in all weather conditions.
