The main task in the design of the More Spa Hotel was the task of abstracting from the familiar atmosphere of Crimea, complementing it and creating a special place that absorbs the beauty and originality of Mexico, Indonesia and Tunisia. We decided to slightly "raise the temperature of the place" by architectural means and "shift" the geographic latitude down.
An approach that takes into account the architectural context and works in accordance with the above factors, is called critical regionalism. The architecture of such resorts as Tulum, Tunisia, Bali tends mainly to low-rise residential architecture of the “Bungalow” type, made from local materials, using traditional construction techniques for these countries. Since ancient times, the culture of these countries has recognized a person's right to self-knowledge and rest through asceticism.
In southern countries, they try to make houses as suitable for living in the heat as possible, so they acquire distinctive features in architecture. Typically, these houses have large doors and windows. With a separate exit to the courtyard or garden directly from the living room. Modification of openings, details of facades, special covering material on the walls - all this helps to create the feeling that the villas in the spa-hotel are created for relaxation on a sultry afternoon.
Colonial style involves mixing different ethnic styles in one interior with the addition of exquisite decor items. Many elements of facades and interiors seem to be created from materials “lying underfoot”, which gives the entire architectural concept a handicraft, hand-made character and gives a feeling of simplicity and unobtrusiveness, helping to disconnect from the technological urbanized environment and feel at one with nature.
Light shades are used in the interior decoration: ivory, cream. The contrast dark colors of
furniture and accessories will look especially advantageous in such an interior.
